Avoid makeup on your lips for twenty-four hours after the procedure. You should also avoid strenuous exercise for twenty-four to forty-eight hours, as elevated heart rate or blood pressure will make swelling worse.

To make sure you heal faster, drink plenty of water! Apply an ice pack or an ice cube covered in a thin cloth to your lips to ease swelling, bruising, or other pain. You can also sleep with your head elevated to reduce swelling.

Make sure that any pain relievers you take don’t contain blood thinners. A safe medication is Tylenol, but you can also ask your Master Injector which medicines are safe.

Lastly, eat plenty of hydrating fruits and vegetables. Avoid foods high in sodium, as that will also make swelling worse.
